Can Sex Toys Ruin Your Taste For “Real” Sex?

In discussions with other women about the use of vibrators and dildos (Sure these conversations happen all the time!), a startlingly high number of them voice concern that these toys will decrease their pleasure and ability to orgasm during sexual contact with another person.

That is simply not true.  The only thing that could decrease their pleasure during sexual contact with other people is if the men or women in question are terrible lovers.

It is true that many sex toys, particularly vibrators, give unusually and extremely intense orgasms.  This is due to the fact that they are run on batteries or simply plug in, never get tired or vary their pressure or vibration, the masturbator knows his or her body best and can control the toy to do all the right things, and there are also less psychological blocks to orgasming that some people (usually women) experience during sex.  Similarly intense orgasms can also be had by masturbating using a strong and steady stream of water from a bathtub faucet or a detachable shower head.  In fact, it is also true that all of these masturbatory methods generally produce much more intense orgasms than masturbating with only your hands.

However, that’s absolutely not to say that it’s impossible to reach extremely intense orgams during sex with another person.  There is much more to great sex that just the mechanics of it.  The most important components to sexual pleasure are the mood and the mindset.  I have experienced incredibly intense orgasms during sex with men, and I’ve also experienced extremely pleasurable and satisfying orgasms that were not quite so intense.  It’s all about enjoying the experience and appreciating each unique encounter for what it is.

Also, large dildos cannot stretch out a woman’s vagina.  Let’s face it, some men just have really small penises and are less pleasurable than larger ones.  If your man’s penis is not satisfying you, maybe you should go out and find another man instead of throwing out your toys.  So keep on using those dildos!

All masturbatory aids can also be used during sex with other people.  These can help to increase the fun you have, the intensity of your orgasms, and can also help to reduce inhibitions.

In summary, there is no reason to be afraid that masturbating with sex toys will ruin you for “real” sex.  So go out and treat yourself to a new one today!
